Applications

Seal-it® 680 DISPABOND EPDM is suitable for bonding EPDM to all kinds of absorbent materials, particularly wooden panels, beams, and roof sheathing. Thanks to the adhesive’s PSA properties, it can even bond to non-absorbent substrates. Aluminum or fleece-backed insulation boards and other substrates should be applied on both sides. The adhesive is suitable for manual application with a brush, roller, or roller.

Consumption based on single-sided application:

Properties

Application conditions

General:

  • Best to use at temperatures between 10°C and 30°C.
  • Avoid use at temperatures below 5°C and in rain.
  • Ensure a flat, sufficiently firm surface.
  • The surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust and grease.
  • Stir/shake the product well before use.
  • Do not leave buckets open; use clean tools.

Single-sided bonding:
When using single-sided bonding, it is essential to apply sufficient adhesive. The film can be applied to a wet adhesive layer. The film can then still be repositioned. Roll the EPDM firmly after the adhesive has partially dried.

Double-sided bonding:
When using double-sided bonding, it is important that the applied adhesive is dry before both sides are joined. This prevents moisture from being trapped under the membrane. Once both sides are dry, apply the membrane and press it into place.
